Looking for Fun Part-Time and Temporary Positions
After 8 years, I recently left employment at a wonderful little gift store when I moved to Lake Havasu from New York. I am now snowbirding and splitting time between Lake Havasu, AZ and Roseburg, OR. I like to stay busy and am looking to work part time during the time I'm at either home. While my preference is to work weekdays, I am very flexible with days/hours and can work evenings or weekends if needed. Most importantly, I'd like the position to be in a field I enjoy and would prefer to find part time work (10-24 hrs per week) as a receptionist, office assistant, real estate admin, display worker, retail merchandiser, photographer, photo editor or working with computer software/websites. My pay scale for part time work is negotiable.
Until I find a permanent part time position, I'm looking for other fun side jobs to fill my spare time. Below I've listed some tasks I'd love to give you a hand with on an "as needed" basis. For these temporary assignments I typically ask $10-$15/hour depending on the task and prefer to work by the project, adding more as my schedule allows.
Please go to the "About Me" tab to explore my employment history and other skills. I have some photos displayed below, but feel free to look through my photo albums to see other examples of my work.

LET ME DESIGN A FREE WEBSITE VIA WEEBLY
Any small business can benefit from having a web presence. Let me design a FREE web site for you or your business such as the one you're viewing now. I understand that learning new software can be frustrating, but for me I find the challenge... FUN! If you'd like some help, I'd love to give you a hand. The website itself is free. You pay only for my time to design it. If you don't like the finished product you don't pay. I simply delete the site. To see a couple of other web sites I've designed using weebly, please visit:
DESIGN - SIGN/CARD LAYOUTS - COMPUTER SOFTWARE HELP
I also enjoy working with art, photo and design software. I like to play with layouts designing signs, business cards, fliers, forms and bumper stickers. Or... maybe you have PowerPoint and I can help you make a photo presentation of your kids or pets. You can check out a couple I've made with my dog on Chancy's phot0 page. Please go to definitivedesign.weebly.com to learn more about this service or check out some of my other design work in my photo album.
These are some photos I captured and turned into postcards.
One has my employer's logo and the others were for a postcard design contest.
Let me design some for your business.
PHOTOGRAPHY for EBAY, CRAIGSLIST, or REAL ESTATE ADS
Many people have difficulty uploading photos in order to sell items on Craigslist and Ebay. I'm a self proclaimed Craigslist Junkie and know from experience that many buyers will not even look at an ad if there is no photo. Let me take your photos, load them onto your computer, show you how to access them, or simply list the ads for you. I'd also be happy to take photos of homes for real estate agents or help develop fliers or websites for those selling homes or high ticket items on their own. I love taking pictures and playing with photo editing software. I recently started playing with Photoshop Elements 10 and although I've never had experience with the full version of Photoshop, I'd love to learn. (hint hint :-). Take a look at the website I designed to display my photography: http://reflectivefolly.weebly.com/
MURALS, PAINTING, THEMES, and DECOR:
I love doing theme rooms... especially whimsical ones for children or waiting areas. I've only been attempting these for the past few years, but really enjoy bringing a space together. I don't claim to be an expert, but if you look through the photo albums section and like what you see, please contact me to discuss what you have in mind. I also have tons of books to browse through for inspiration. I'm sorry, but I have to put an exception on ceilings. My neck rebels just thinking about it. :-)
ORGANIZING, DISPLAYS, DECORATING: |
Honestly, I don't particularly like cleaning, but I am passionate about organizing and display work. I love to tackle junk drawers, overflowing craft rooms, garages, children's rooms and offices. I've also invested in real estate for over 25 year so I can also help you declutter and stage rooms for upcoming sales. Or... if you have a commercial business, I'd love to help organize your stock room, set up decorative window and counter displays, or decorate for the holidays. I currently work in a gift shop part time just so I can do this type of work. Below and to the left are just a few pictures of many displays I've created as well as the storage areas I recently reorganized. |

SCRAPBOOKKING and COLLAGES
I'm an avid scrap booker and enjoy putting together collage frames. If you look in the photo albums above you will see sample pages from some of my personal scrapbook albums, framed photo collages, as well as a stand up photo boards for a special event.
FABRIC PHOTO ALBUM CLASS:
Have you ever wanted to learn to make those beautiful fabric covered photo albums? Let me show you how. Please take a look at the photos to see just a few I've done. I have conducted these classes before and have made oodles of them as gifts over the years. I will teach individuals or small groups, your location or mine (Brockport), but plan on 4 hours per lesson. A materials list is available upon request. So... get your crafty friends together, share the cost, and spend an afternoon of fun while you learn a new craft.
LETTERING and CALLIGRAPHY:
I've always enjoyed lettering and calligraphy and have taken several college level courses dedicated to this art form. I try to give all of my envelopes that special touch. I'd be happy to address your envelopes for an upcoming function, hand write your letters, or fill in names on a diploma or certificate.
FINDERS SERVICE:
Are you looking for a particular used item? I'm an avid garage saler so during the summer I'm hitting the sidewalks at least 3-4 days a week. My friends and family have lists of things they want me to watch for. I also enjoy looking for real estate and have owned a lot of properties over the years . Although I no longer invest, I can't get it out of my blood. I still go into the real estate sites weekly looking for bargains. Let me know what you're trying to find and for a small fee, I'll let you know if I find it during my travels or run across it online. It never hurts to have a second set of eyes!
LETTER WRITING
Do you need a letter written, but need some help getting your ideas on paper. I've written tons of official letters to individuals, companies, and government agencies that typically end with results in my favor. Most recently we were approved for a refinance loan, but were ultimately denied because of an apartment that was attached to our house. We were told we had to apply for a permit that was unnecessary according to the code enforcement agency or we needed to gut the kitchen. We were not willing to do either. Technically, our $395 deposit was suppose to be non refundable unless the refinance when through. , but thanks to my letter, I was refunded the full amount within 24 hours. It never hurts to try. (See letter here.) Or take a look at the letter I wrote in response to a prospective buyer didn't like my ad. (See letter here.)
MISCELLANEOUS:
I always have a few side projects that I'm working on around the houses. I recently completed an entertainment center conversion to a child's kitchen. I've also been getting into bowling ball art for the garden as well as paper mosaics. Candy Wreaths are another fun gift any time of the year. Or... Maybe you need something special designed for a child's party, for instance, a pin the tail game designed with your theme in mind. I painted a poster version of Pin the Tail on the Piggy and cut out little curly tails for one of our son's parties. I've also recently converted coffee tables into benches.
